Terms
Terms of use.
Last updated November 4, 2026. These terms cover the Melon browser and the Melon Cloud service run on this server.
The short version
- The browser is open source and free. Its license, not this page, governs the code.
- Melon Cloud is optional. Use it fairly and don't use it to hurt anyone.
- Your synced data stays yours. You can delete it at any time.
- Everything is provided as is, without warranties.
The browser
Melon is open‑source software. The source code is published on GitHub, and your rights to use, copy, modify and distribute it are set by the license in that repository. Melon includes Chromium and other open‑source components, each under its own license.
Websites you visit, extensions you install and AI providers you connect (such as Anthropic or OpenAI) are third‑party services with their own terms. Melon does not control them and is not responsible for them.
Melon Cloud
Melon Cloud adds sync between your devices and the Melon Connect relay. You only use it if you sign in.
Your account
You sign in with an email address you control and a one‑time code. Keep access to that inbox secure: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
Your data
What you sync remains yours. We store it only to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy, and we do not sell it or use it for advertising. Deleting your account deletes everything stored for it.
Fair use
Don't use Melon Cloud to:
- break the law or infringe anyone else's rights;
- store or relay malware, or attack, probe or overload the service or other people's devices;
- get around rate limits or access accounts or data that are not yours;
- resell or offer the service to others as your own.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and remove data that is unlawful.
Changes and availability
Melon Cloud is run on a best‑effort basis. It may change, be interrupted or be discontinued. If we plan to shut it down, we will give reasonable notice so you can keep a copy of your data; your Spaces and tabs always remain on your devices.
We may update these terms. When the changes matter, we will say so in the browser or on this site before they apply.
No warranty
Melon and Melon Cloud are provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, arising from your use of them. Nothing here limits rights you have under laws that cannot be waived.
